There was a meager showing for the Sub for Santa Food Drive. Special thanks to those who did attend and helped gather food for our fellow UVU student families who are less fortunate than ourselves. This certainly is the place for a guilt-trip, but let us remember the words of the great American, Henry David Thoreau:
To many creatures there is in this sense but one necessary of life, Food...None of the brute creations requires more than Food and Shelter...Man has invented, not only houses, but clothes and cooked food; and possibly from the accidental discovery of the warmth of fire, and the consequent use of it, at first a luxury, arose the present necessity to sit by it...Most of the luxuries, and many of the so called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.
Let's not let luxury get in the way of the elevation of mankind.
